Introducing propaganda analysis as part of media literacy education

On September 19-20, 2017, we offered a Pre-Conference Seminar, Media Meets Literacy in Sarajevo. Our target audience was students, young teachers, non-formal media educators, journalists and media professionals.

These seminars were designed to raise awareness about the power of contemporary propaganda and introduce practical strategies to promote critical thinking about propaganda. At a time of rampant populism, xenophobia, fake news and stereotyping, the seminar provides students, educators and other professionals with innovative educational models and resources.

Participants explore the subject of propaganda by actively engaging in dialogue, interpretation and analysis, and consider strategies for addressing rising nationalism, racism, intolerance and violent extremism. Listen to participants as they synthesize their learning:
